Law.com quoted Labor & Employment partner Adam Young in its article, “Heat Is On for Employers as Regulatory Climate Shifts for Workplace Temperature Safety.” The piece, published on June 17, 2026, examines ongoing OSHA efforts to develop federal heat safety rules and how enforcement and evolving state requirements are shaping employer compliance obligations.

Young highlighted expectations around regulatory continuity across administrations, noting:

“One of the things I expected with the Trump administration was that they might table the heat illness issue, but nothing indicates that happened. And in fact, the head of OSHA for the Trump administration, David Keeling, mentioned heat illness during his congressional confirmation testimony. He thought that was an important issue. I don't think that reflected some sort of broader word he was getting from above, I think that reflected his experience.”
