Lawdragon Names Five Seyfarth Attorneys among 500 Leading Dealmakers in America
Five Seyfarth lawyers - Andrew Lucano, Paul Mattingly, John Napoli, Denice Tokunaga, and Kevin Woolf – were selected as 2026 Lawdragon 500 Leading Dealmakers in America. Lawdragon’s 6thannual guide honors “the lawyers who shake the world with the deals they make happen.”
Lawdragon says its Leading Dealmakers “bring together the vast knowledge required of a client, its strategy and legal and financial underpinnings, with the momentary apple of its eye – financing, an acquisition, a joint venture, a multi-billion-dollar merger. Working through the morass of detail while steering through the waves and vicissitudes of an industry, an economy and shareholder, worker and executives’ wants and needs. They have clockwork brains, an athlete’s instinct and an overdrive that would make a Formula 1 driver grin.”
Andrew Lucano chairs of Seyfarth’s national Corporate department and co-chairs the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions practice. He provides extensive experience on all sides of a deal, guiding his clients through negotiations and the transaction process by understanding their business, analyzing and assessing risk, and building bridges.
Paul Mattingly is the national chair of Seyfarth’s Real Estate department, one of the five largest commercial real estate practices in the United States. Mattingly leads teams that serve institutional real estate clients in transactions across the United States, including a real estate finance team that has closed loans having a value in excess of $6 billion in each of the last three years.
John Napoli co-chairs Seyfarth national tax practice and is co-managing partner of the firm’s New York office. He advises public and private clients on complex federal, state, and local tax matters, with a focus on corporate mergers and acquisitions, international transactions, financings, and a wide array of real estate (including REITs). His experience spans subchapter S corporations, partnerships, joint ventures, and limited liability companies, as well as tax-free like-kind 1031 exchanges.
Denice Tokunaga offers extensive experience representing e-commerce companies in industrial leasing, having negotiated leases for more than 284 million square feet for fulfilment, distribution, data center, last mile, and other industrial uses. She works with real estate developers, public and private companies, private equity, and pension funds. Tokunaga is co-managing partner of Seyfarth’s Seattle office.
Kevin Woolf counsels clients with the purchase, sale, or lease of real property, personal property, technology, and services. He collaborates with clients to design, refine, and execute high-volume projects. Woolf works with clients, large and small, to sort out and streamline their transactional processes.
Lawdragon determines its list through a methodology combining “independent journalistic research…submissions from as wide a group as possible and vetting from established dealmakers and clients.”
