Leon Rodriguez was quoted in "New OCR Director Vows Focus on Patients As Well AS ‘People’ at Regulated Entities," an April 1 story from the Report on Patient Privacy on how the new OCR Director pledged that he would do his best to further cause of civil rights and of health information privacy and security. Rodriguez stands out as the only OCR director who had some HIPAA experience prior to joining OCR.
