"Employment Attorneys Dominate..."

Lisa Damon was quoted in the article, "Employment Attorneys Dominate At Epstein, Seyfarth" published  in the December 4, 2009 issue of Employment Law360. The article reported on Law360’s 2009 practice area survey results. According to the survey, Seyfarth had one of the heaviest concentrations of employment lawyers among firms with 100 or more attorneys. The article noted that “Seyfarth Shaw's employment practice dates back to the firm's conception...." Lisa Damon, Chair of the National Labor and Employment department, noted that Seyfarth grew by following clients to the cities where they needed services, and it now represents roughly 300 of the Fortune 500 companies. She further remarked, "Look at your desk and look at a product, and we're more than likely representing a client that has manufactured or distributed it."

Lisa explained to Law360 that frequent changes to existing labor laws provide the department’s attorneys with a steady stream of work. The article also noted that Seyfarth attorneys regularly testify before Congress on proposed legislation, including revisions to the Americans with Disabilities Act. According to the article, the firm’s biggest focus is SeyfarthLean, and points to its work with client United Technologies Corp. as an example. Lisa concluded, “We are constantly in communication with each other, sharing resources, making sure that we are aligning ourselves with the client.”
