Seyfarth Shaw employment partner Pamela Devata discussed employer use of credit checks in hiring and supported the business perspective. This appearance follows Pam's recent testimony on this topic before the EEOC. In essence, Pam emphasized that credit checks can be a useful tool for employers because they provide a variety of information that cannot otherwise be confirmed by an employer, and because they are viewed as a valid indicator of a person’s judgment and potential risk to the company. This appearance on "Fox & Friends" presented a good opportunity to help others understand and support that perspective.
