Pamela Devata Quoted in Human Resource Executive "Screening Employees"

Pamela Devata was quoted in the August 19, 2008 issue of Human Resource Executive in the article, "Screening Employees." The article outlined the importance of instituting screening policies, while also ensuring a company follows privacy and employment laws. "One of the best predictors of how a person will act in the future is his or her past actions. This is why running periodic background checks and screenings on employees or potential employees is imperative," Pam explained. According to Pam, if you comply with federal and state guidelines, screening is a good idea, but she does admit that there may be varying opinions as to who to screen and how often. She concluded that running background checks "not only mitigates risk to the employer but more importantly, it increases the safety of the person's co-workers."
