This presentation will address some of the practical business and legal issues relating to remote workforces, including employer strategies to: build and maintain company culture; address increasingly important diversity & inclusion issues during a time of limited hiring and promotional opportunities; manage remote employees, including setting reasonable work hours in light of caregiving and other conflicts; measure employee performance and conduct, and, if necessary, investigate same; provide equipment and other resources; maintain data privacy and security; implement compliant wage & hour/payroll/ tax practices; and develop a process to address remote work requests post-pandemic. We also will address some of the regulatory issues arising from a remote workforce in the financial services industry, including registration and supervision rules and the temporary relief from the same and other rules.
