As New York City reopens, co-op and condo boards and managing agents are facing unprecedented challenges protecting the health and safety of building residents, staff, visitors and others present in their buildings. This presentation addresses critical issues and concerns for co-ops and condos as they navigate the upcoming phases of reopening. We examine the legal and practical considerations in our discussion of these topics:

  • Reopening amenity spaces such as gyms, pools, roof-decks and playrooms
  • Navigating building staff/union issues associated with reopening
  • Addressing NY Human Rights Law and accommodation requests
  • Litigating reopening-related disputes
