As businesses reopen their worksites, in-house counsel and HR leaders are looking for clarity on Form I-9 COVID-19 compliance issues in the new normal.

This webinar follows up on our last session and focuses on the recently extended (until July 19) temporary allowance by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for virtual I-9 completion, as well as any new guidance U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) may issue. Our panel addresses the legal and practical immigration compliance issues employers can anticipate when resuming business operations, bringing employees back to the workplace in Return to Business (RTB) phases, and maintaining compliance for those whose employees continue to work remotely.

Expect to dive deep as we consider a variety of scenarios, and the related challenges to updating virtual I-9s in person, and join the discussion of when that three-day clock actually starts after resumption of “normal operations.”

Other discussion topics include:

  • Expired Documents Guidance and Other COVID-19-related Changes
  • Post-COVID Clean-Up
  • Electronic I-9-Winners and Losers
