Privacy Daily quoted Rob Szyba in its article, “Judge Questions Federal Preemption Claims in NJ Daniel's Law Case,” on August 11. Szyba discussed how a federal judge raised doubts that the Communications Decency Act provides data brokers with immunity from New Jersey’s Daniel’s Law.
“Information came from a third party, and the brokers aren’t using the data to create a narrative -- they’re just passing it through. Google gets immunity for doing effectively the same thing.”
