Seyfarth Represents John Hancock in its Acquisition of One South Wacker in Chicago

CHICAGO (May 29, 2015) – Seyfarth Shaw LLP advised John Hancock, the U.S. division of Manulife Financial Corporation, in its acquisition of One South Wacker, a 40 story office building located in Chicago's Central Business District's West Loop.

One South Wacker, constructed in 1982 and renovated in 2014, is a LEED Gold Certified office tower. Located at the prime intersection of South Wacker and Madison streets in Chicago's West Loop submarket, One South Wacker provides easy access to all modes of transportation and amenities including restaurants, hotels and luxury shopping.

Operating as John Hancock Real Estate in the U.S. and Manulife Real Estate in all other parts of the world, the Company's real estate portfolio is diversified by both geography and asset type, consisting primarily of prime office and industrial properties, as well as select retail and multi-family residential properties, in key metropolitan centers throughout Canada, Asia and the United States.
