NEW YORK (June 28, 2011) — Seyfarth Shaw LLP is pleased to announce three of the firm’s partners from the Labor and Employment practice, Ariel Cudkowicz, Loren Gesinsky and Michael Marino, have been inducted into the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Lawyers as Fellows, the highest recognition by their colleagues of “sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence.”

Membership is by nomination only and limited to those who have demonstrated the principles to the college, which include the highest ethical standards and level of character; sustained, high-quality services to clients, the bar, bench and public; and significant evidence of scholarship, teaching, speaking and/or published writing on labor and employment law. The induction ceremony will take place on November 5 in Seattle, Wash.

"Ariel, Loren and Mike are first-rate lawyers, and they each embody the qualities that the Fellows represent," said Lisa Damon, Chair of the Seyfarth Shaw Labor and Employment practice. "Their election to the college speaks to the rich pool of talent within our practice, and we look forward to their future successes as they continue to apply their many attributes to the work they do on behalf of our clients."

Ariel Cudkowicz is a partner in Seyfarth Shaw’s Boston office. His work focuses on employment litigation with a particular emphasis on wage and hour collective and class actions, complex single-plaintiff employment discrimination litigation and workplace advise and counseling. Cudkowicz represents clients in the retail industry in FLSA collective actions and in the hospitality industry in class actions challenging the distribution of tips and service charges under Massachusetts law.

New York office partner Loren Gesinsky represents employers before state and federal courts, administrative agencies, arbitrators, mediators, and other tribunals regarding all legal issues relating to the workplace, including: wage and hour collective and class actions, discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, non-compete, other restrictive covenants and trade secrets. He also provides counsel to employers and negotiates agreements regarding these issues, paying particular attention to strategies to avoid litigation.

Michael Marino has successfully tried over 20 cases in federal court jurisdictions across the country, along with many administrative proceedings and labor arbitrations. A partner in the New York office, Marino represents multinational corporations, small businesses, key executives, professional athletes and celebrities nationwide in all types of employment-related and other professional services matters, and he has advised clients on employment issues in all forms of workplace settings.

Established in 1995, the College was created through an initiative of the Council of the Section of Labor and Employment Law of the American Bar Association.
