Seyfarth Shaw was featured in the March 5, 2008 issue of Coastal Courier (Hinesville, GA) in the article, “Immigration Information Brought to Soldiers.”

The article noted that a group of Seyfarth Shaw attorneys from Atlanta, Boston and New York led by Nicole Kersey, provided immigration assistance to soldiers and their families during a two-day workshop at Fort Stewart. The firm planned the workshop, developed the materials, loaded up supplies of the government forms and headed for Fort Stewart. The team saw about 25 soldiers or family members on Friday alone who each expressed a range of needs, from simple questions to cases in which the Seyfarth specialists began the filling out of the required forms. Nici noted that immigration can be a long tedious process and that the bottom line is the limited number of visas available.

Nici spearheaded this effort, after noticing a need for immigration assistance among soldiers and their families. She wrote a proposal for the firm to do a pro bono workshop and it was accepted. Nici remarked, "I love my job…‘It's rewarding to be able to help people who need it." Friday afternoon, Fort Stewart's acting staff Judge Advocate General, Lt. Col. Stacy Flippin and Maj. Monte Richards, chief of legal assistance, presented certificates and coins to the Seyfarth Shaw immigration team.
