SeyfarthLean was featured in the November 17, 2009 Six Sigma and Process Excellence IQ podcast, "Raising the Bar: How Seyfarth Shaw Provides Efficient Delivery of Legal Services through Lean Six Sigma." Lisa Damon and Carla Goldstein participated in the podcast and discussed how Seyfarth Shaw took steps to implement Lean Six Sigma within the firm in order to ensure more efficient delivery of its legal services to clients. During the podcast, Lisa and Carla discussed how the firm's embrace of Lean Six Sigma reflects Seyfarth's history of striving to do things as efficiently as possible without comprising quality. Lisa and Carla pointed out that the firm deployed its own version of Lean Six Sigma, SeyfarthLean, in order to cater specifically to a law firm setting and its legal processes.

During the podcast, Lisa and Carla outlined the key tools that the firm has used to better its processes, which include process mapping, kaizen (a Japanese term that means continuous improvement) and DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). They also revealed some results Seyfarth has achieved with SeyfarthLean, such as a 15 to 50 reduction in costs of legal services for clients, and they offered advice on how other service organizations can make the same Lean Six Sigma deployment.
