Seyfarth’s Kiran Seldon Named to Daily Journal’s 2020 List of “Top Women Lawyers” in California

Kiran Aftab Seldon, member of Seyfarth’s Labor & Employment department in Los Angeles, was named to the Daily Journal’s 2020 list of “Top Women Lawyers” in California.

The Daily Journal profiled Seldon’s successful representation of the Pac-12 in a landmark ruling on whether football players are employees of the conference. The Daily Journal writes of Seldon:

“Seldon handled the successful defense motion to dismiss and a lengthy oral argument at the district court, then did the briefing and argument before the circuit panel.”

This was the first case addressing the employment status of Division 1 football players and its outcome had large ramifications across Division 1 schools across the country.

“We knew from the start that this was a new issue and it would be a matter of first impression,” Seldon told the Daily Journal. “That was exciting.”
