Seyfarth’s Seyfarth Life program was spotlighted by Crain’s Chicago Business at the 2022 Illinois’ Healthiest Employers Awards event. Crain’s Chicago Business honored the state's top corporate well-being programs that take a proactive approach to employee health. Seyfarth’s Tracy Billows, a Chicago office co-managing partner, was part of the panel discussion representing human resource leaders from a cross section of area industries.

Seyfarth Life was created to increase the firm’s organizational resiliency through a focus on well-being and performance. Seyfarth Life enables the firm to achieve the highest levels of client service and career satisfaction for all personnel through individual development, innovative benefits and career paths, user-friendly technology solutions, and the cultivation of strong interpersonal relationships.

One of the firm’s initiatives is The Inspiration Project which is the legal industry’s first inspiration-focused employee wellness program, designed to increase engagement and enrich the firm's culture. Through Seyfarth Life, the Inspiration Project provides $4,000 scholarships to six Seyfarth employees to pursue inspirational projects focused on health, wellness, lifelong learning, or making an impact in the firm’s communities.

In connection with Mental Health Awareness Month, Seyfarth participated in Well-Being Week in Law (WWIL) for the second year. Seyfarth’s 2021 Well-Being Week was filled with activities, at-home challenges, webinars, and resources to promote health and happiness across the legal profession.

Seyfarth also partnered with Spring Health and Calm to provide a number of mental health programs to meet employees where they are. Spring Health provides all employees and their dependents age 6+ a mental wellness screening, personalized care navigation, unlimited virtual group support sessions, and a crisis support line.

In addition, select leaders of the firm were invited to participate in a two-day mental health first aid  training, and all managers were offered a webinar on how to recognize and respond to mental health concerns. Seyfarth also implemented a premium subscription to Calm, a mobile app for stress and sleep management, available for free to all employees worldwide.

"Organizations need to pay attention and listen to employees and respond to their specific needs," said Billows. She continued, “We learned how to have those difficult conversations.”
