Chicago, IL  (October 20, 2006) - - Seyfarth Shaw LLP, one of America’s leading full service law firms, announced the induction of six of its attorneys into the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, Inc. The College, founded in 1995, is a non-profit professional association of labor and employment lawyers engaged in the private and public practice of law, in government, in academia, in corporate law departments, and judges. Its goals are to promote achievement, advancement and excellence in the practice of labor and employment law.

This year’s inductees from Seyfarth Shaw’s Labor and Employment practice are: Kenneth R. Dolin, Gerald L. Maatman, Jr., Ellen E. McLaughlin, Robert J. Mignin, and Thomas J. Piskorski, all partners in the Chicago office, and John J. Toner, of counsel in the Washington D.C. office. Their addition brings to 24 the total number of Seyfarth Shaw attorneys in the College, which is among the highest representation for any single firm.

The College has a rigorous nomination process, requiring that attorneys have been in the field of labor and employment law for at least 20 years. The candidates, selected by invitation only, must also demonstrate to their peers, the bar, bench and public through long performance related to the practice of labor and employment law that they represent: the highest professional qualifications and ethical standards; the highest level of character, integrity, professional expertise and leadership; a commitment to fostering and furthering the objectives of the College; sustained, exceptionally high-quality services to clients, bar, bench and public; and significant evidence of scholarship, teaching, lecturing and/or published writings on labor and employment law.

Members, or “Fellows,” of the College are dedicated to the study and enhancement of professional ethics in the practice of labor and employment law and to the improvement of the delivery and quality of labor and employment legal services. The college provides a forum for discussion and collegiality and sponsors annual lectures with prominent speakers. It has also instituted a new project using videotape to preserve and perpetuate significant historic events
