Special Registration Deadlines for Certain Foreign Nationals

The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) now requires that certain foreign nationals already present in the United States appear before an INS officer to undergo special registration procedures; depending on nationality of the foreign national, the registration deadline is either December 16, 2002 or January 10, 2003.

Who Must Register
Any male born on or before November 15, 1986 and who is national (i.e., born in) or citizen of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, or Syria must register with the INS by December 16, 2002 if ALL of the following apply:
