Once again, please join Seyfarth’s Immigration Compliance and Enforcement Team as they address critical challenges that employers face in the lifecycle of hiring, employment and growth. Our panelists will offer practical solutions for dealing with old and new pitfalls in the new era of ramped-up immigration worksite enforcement.

In our fourth session, we work with Harry, the Human Resources Manager, and Julie, the General Counsel, both of the OK Company, as they navigate and handle special circumstances in the life of a company that implicate I-9 and other immigration law compliance issues.  In this session, Harry and Julie are notified that their company is in talks to acquire a competitor, the Blah Company.   Company leadership has told Harry and Julie that they are nervous because of everything they are hearing about immigration enforcement, and want to be sure that the acquisition doesn’t “cause problems.”  While the OK Company uses E-Verify, the Blah Company does not.  Also troubling, one of Blah Company’s staffing vendors was recently the subject of an ICE raid.

Through real-world scenarios, audience members will learn practical tips and best practices to ensure immigration compliance in the hiring and continued employment of a diverse workforce by a geographically dispersed organization.

Our fourth session concentrates on common and not-so-common post-hire challenges:

  • Mergers and Acquisitions:  To reverify or not to reverify? That is the question.
  • Due Diligence:  Buyer beware, especially now. But how should that play out?
  • Restructuring:  Should E-Verify MOUs be updated or withdrawn?  What else should the employer do?
  • Dealing with Contractors and Vendors:  When do their problems become your problems

CLE Credit for this webinar has been awarded in the following states: CA, IL, NJ and NY. CLE Credit is pending for GA, TX and VA. Please note that in order to receive full credit for attending this webinar, the registrant must be present for the entire session.
