Amber is a trusted and determined litigator and advisor who protects employers’ interests—well beyond the courtroom.
More About Amber
Amber’s practice focuses on defending employers against single- and multiplaintiff claims for discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, wage and hour issues, and non-compete agreements. Her experience includes litigation in state and federal courts, before administrative agencies, and in private arbitration. She has represented clients in industries including manufacturing, retail, financial services, and transportation sectors.
In addition to litigation, Amber provides advice, counseling, and training to facilitate compliance with federal and state employment laws, such as those governing leaves, terminations, discipline, and employment-related decisions. She brings a unique perspective due to her experience serving as compliance counsel for a large automotive dealer association, and draws from these insights regularly in her work with employers. In her practice, she counsels employers on the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Federal Trade Commission regulations, as well as state laws affecting fair pay and labor allowances.
Amber helps organizations develop workplace initiatives that promote inclusion and diversity, while mitigating legal and reputational risk. Her tenure as a senior inclusion professional at two global law firms—providing strategic direction for mentorship programs, practice development efforts, and employee resource groups—allows her to effectively guide employers in building cultures of inclusion that position the organization for continued success.
Beyond her legal practice, Amber is active with several professional and community organizations, including the Houston Lawyers Association, The Junior League of Houston, and The Links, Incorporated. She is the director and board secretary for The American Theatre Guild.
Amber was a judicial extern in 2005 to the Honorable Doyle W. Argo (ret.), US Magistrate Judge for the Western District of Oklahoma.
