More About Cameron
In today’s competitive market, clients look to Cameron for legal solutions to the strategic and operational challenges presented by the real estate and related capital markets.
Over the past decade, Cameron has closed several billion dollars’ worth of real estate transactions on behalf of sellers, buyers, owners, and lenders. Additionally, he has helped structure more than a billion dollars’ worth of real estate securities offerings, including Delaware statutory trusts (DSTs), real estate investment trusts (REITs), and opportunity zone (OZ) funds. From transaction structuring to capital raising and closing, Cameron leverages his multidisciplinary perspective to successfully partner with clients on all sides of the table and in all areas of real estate.
Prior to joining Seyfarth, Cameron served as assistant general counsel for the real estate division of a large investment bank and DST, OZ, and REIT sponsor, where he negotiated purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, and loan documents, in addition to drafting securities offering documentation. Cameron also participated in pipeline, committee, and strategy meetings, and drafted term sheets for prospective deals. Through this in-house experience, he has developed a deep understanding of the intersection between business and legal considerations on complex real estate transactions.
Cameron began his career as a real estate associate at another Am Law 100 firm, representing lenders in the origination and restructuring of commercial real estate mortgage and mezzanine loans, and advising loan sellers and buyers in secondary market transactions, including securitizations and repurchase facilities.
Cameron is a frequent speaker and author who is committed to sharing knowledge and best practices with the industry. He currently serves as the chair for the Real Estate Investment Trusts Committee within the American Bar Association's Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law. Additionally, Cameron serves as Acquisition/Disposition Subcommittee chair of the New York City Bar Association’s Real Property Law Committee.
