More About Gabriel

California employers sometimes find themselves facing legal risks they never saw coming. Employment laws change frequently, compliance obligations are highly technical, and minor missteps can have significant consequences. Gabriel helps clients spot issues before they escalate, respond when disputes arise, and move forward with confidence in the decisions they make for their workplaces.

Gabriel advises on employee classification, overtime and regular-rate calculations, meal and rest periods, timekeeping, and pay practices. He helps clients identify potential exposure, understand their options, and develop approaches that account for both legal requirements and operational realities. For instance, Gabriel advised an international employer on revising timekeeping and meal-period practices across more than 100 California locations.

Gabriel regularly represents employers in wage and hour class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) litigation, using payroll and timekeeping data to assess exposure and inform strategy. His experience ranges from responding to pre-litigation demands, to gearing up and engaging in trial.

Drawing on years of hand on practice, Gabriel brings a detailed understanding of California wage and hour law to broader workforce challenges. He has counseled a vast range of clients—from entrepreneurs and startups, to mom-and-pop shops and generational family businesses, to international, privately held corporations—through economic downturn, difficult workforce decision-making, scaling the workforce, and addressing threatened and pending litigations.
