In consequential litigation, decisive facts are increasingly buried within vast, fragmented, and technically complex data environments that few lawyers can access and fewer can interpret. Jaime works in that layer, uncovering what the data reveal, testing what they can prove, and determining how they shape liability, exposure, and the course of the case. A technologist before becoming a litigator, he brings a command of the systems in which modern evidence resides, from obscure legacy platforms to advanced machine learning. He dedicates his practice to matters in which the underlying technology and data are inseparable from the law of the case, and he is involved from the earliest factual investigation through resolution. His work spans complex commercial litigation, class actions, privacy disputes, regulatory investigations, information governance, and artificial intelligence. Data Science and Analytics. Jaime co-founded Seyfarth’s Data Science & Analytics practice, which brings data science to bear on litigation strategy and legal analysis. He develops models that identify the factual patterns, assumptions, and variations on which large claims depend. His work does not reduce a dispute to a single damages number. It reveals the range and structure of possible outcomes, surfaces the assumptions on which those outcomes rest, and allows competing legal and factual theories to be tested against the underlying record. His analyses have shaped wage and hour, health care, and transportation and logistics matters, and they inform negotiation, mediation, arbitration, expert work, and trial.

Complex and Class Litigation. Jaime analyzes the underlying records from which liability, causation, classwide proof, damages, and exposure must be established. He identifies patterns that are not visible at the surface, tests whether claimed regularities are genuine, and determines whether the data support the legal theory or undermine it. In class actions, this often means looking behind aggregate claims to determine whether exposure can truly be established on a classwide basis and whether material variation has been concealed. In commercial disputes, it can mean reconstructing losses, tracing value through complex relationships, and translating incomplete or contested records into defensible scenarios.

Privacy. Jaime follows information through the technical pathways of modern systems, examining how it moves among websites, applications, platforms, devices, vendors, and intermediaries, and translating that behavior into legal consequence. His work often turns on distinctions that are simple to articulate and difficult to prove: what a system could do, what it was designed to do, what it was configured to do, and what it actually did.

Artificial Intelligence. Jaime has long advocated for the thoughtful use of artificial intelligence. He works beneath the interface, examining not only what these systems produce but the models, processes, and assumptions that shape their outputs. That understanding lets him assess the risks AI creates, deploy it responsibly, and distinguish genuine insight from confident noise. Combined with other analytical tools, he uses it to make sense of information that would otherwise defy analysis, surfacing the facts and patterns buried in data too large or too complex for conventional review. In litigation, discovery, and investigations, that means moving through unfamiliar data environments, reconstructing events, testing competing theories, exposing relationships, and surfacing evidence that might otherwise remain hidden.

eDiscovery. Jaime leads eDiscovery strategy in matters defined by massive data volumes, unfamiliar systems, technically intricate subject matter, or unusually consequential stakes. Teams rely on him for eDiscovery, analytics, cybersecurity, and digital forensics knowledge and strategic judgment, and for the ability to recognize which systems and data sources will prove decisive when their significance is not yet apparent. He advises on the full discovery life cycle, from preservation and collection through review and production, including complex questions involving privilege, data integrity, proportionality, and technically difficult sources.

Technical Case Strategy. Jaime works directly with lawyers, executives, technologists, experts, and witnesses to identify the systems, information, and technical questions that will shape a matter. He is frequently called upon to lead discussions with legal, financial, technology, security, and operational personnel, distilling their specialized knowledge into a coherent account of how the relevant systems operate and what evidence they may contain. He also prepares witnesses to explain complex technologies with precision and credibility in depositions, hearings, and at trial.

Recognition and Speaking Engagements. Jaime is recognized by The Legal 500 as a Next Generation Partner in eDiscovery (2023-2026). In its 2025 edition, client commentary called him “a genius,” described his combination of coding, analytics, and lawyering as unlike that of any other lawyer, and credited his detailed exposure analyses with saving clients millions (Legalese Ltd.). In 2026, clients again singled out Jaime, describing his ability to leverage data in eDiscovery as “unparalleled” and praising Seyfarth’s use of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and coding to uncover anomalies, identify patterns, and construct detailed factual narratives in class actions. A recurring speaker at Legalweek and other leading legal and technology forums, Jaime speaks on artificial intelligence, data analytics, emerging sources of digital evidence, privacy, cybersecurity, and the changing nature of discovery.
