He advises and counsels clients on every aspect of labor law.
In particular, Matt has extensive airline industry experience. Matt represents air carriers in collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, and day-to-day labor relations matters. He brings a strategic perspective shaped by more than a decade representing labor unions and their members.
Before entering private practice on the management side, Matt served as Labor Relations Counsel at the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), where he advised pilot groups across the country on negotiations, disciplinary matters, contract administration, public messaging, and National Mediation Board proceedings. He is particularly experienced with pilot pay and scheduling issues, bargaining, grievance arbitration, and pilot-specific credentialing and licensing matters. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at a law firm where he represented unions in arbitration, litigation, and administrative proceedings.
Matt’s background representing unions gives him a distinct advantage when advising management. He understands how unions operate, evaluate risk, and make strategic decisions, and he leverages that insight—along with longstanding professional relationships in the labor community—to help air carriers and achieve practical, durable solutions while maintaining good labor relations.
