More About Michael
At Seyfarth, Michael helps clients anticipate labor risk, develop proactive labor strategies, and resolve disputes efficiently when they arise. He advises clients across the full range of traditional labor law, including union-organizing campaigns, union-avoidance strategy, arbitrations, collective bargaining, and litigation before the NLRB and federal courts.
Michael offers clients an insider’s understanding of how the NLRB operates and leverages this knowledge to drive client-focused outcomes. He spent more than 13 years working at the agency’s headquarters and his institutional knowledge allows him to stay ahead of enforcement trends, cut through bureaucratic friction, and position matters for faster, more favorable resolution.
In addition to his substantive labor practice, Michael incorporates advanced legal technologies into his work to deliver efficient and cost-effective counsel. He has obtained an executive certificate from UC Berkeley School of Law in Generative AI for the Legal Profession and uses AI-assisted research, document analysis, and workflow tools as part of his regular practice.
Michael is also active in the labor and employment law community. He serves as management co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Practice and Procedure Under the NLRA Committee for the DC region and is a contributing author to The Developing Labor Law, LexisNexis, and the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He has also spoken at national labor and employment conferences, including the Labor and Employment Relations Association annual meeting.
Michael served as a judge advocate with the 58th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade of the Maryland Army National Guard, advising command on mission-related, personnel, and policy matters. Earlier in his military career, he served as a human intelligence collector. In both roles, he held a Department of Defense Top Secret SCI clearance.
