More About Nate

Nate represents corporations and individuals in criminal grand jury investigations and prosecutions, internal investigations, regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions, and parallel civil proceedings. A trusted advisor to Fortune 500 companies, Nate is frequently called upon to handle their most significant and sensitive matters. He counsels boards of directors, negotiates with government agencies, and serves as lead trial counsel in high-stakes litigation. His clients span a broad range of industries, including major investment banks, professional sports organizations, global manufacturers, and international restaurant brands, all of whom rely on his strategic judgment and advocacy when facing their most complex legal challenges.

Nate’s work is often at the center of matters that attract national attention, with cases featured in publications such as The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. Among his notable representations, he co-led the defense team that secured the first-ever acquittal of a commodities trader in a federal “spoofing” trial and has represented some of the world’s largest airlines in efforts to combat sophisticated fraud schemes and protect consumers. He also advises and defends high-profile individuals, including C-suite executives, senior government officials, professional athletes, and Grammy- and Oscar-winning performers. While many of his matters have garnered significant media attention, some of his most meaningful successes have been achieved quietly—resolving investigations and disputes before they become public.

In addition to his white collar practice, Nate has served as trial counsel in numerous civil matters across the country, including antitrust and trademark litigation. Prior to joining Seyfarth, Nate served as the Global Chair of the White Collar and Investigations Practice at another large international law firm. Before entering private practice, he held a distinguished career in public service, representing the United States in a wide range of significant matters. His government experience includes prosecuting high-level public corruption cases and antitrust offenses, as well as serving as Counsel to Senate Majority Leader Robert J. Dole. This combination of courtroom experience, government service, and strategic counsel enables Nate to provide clients with practical, sophisticated guidance in their most critical legal matters.
