HOW WE HELP

Our Immigration group presents a powerful combination of legal knowledge and business capabilities, providing best-in-class legal services and portfolio management programs for a wide variety of US and global corporations. Working with clients that employ as many as 8,000 foreign nationals has allowed us to develop a robust infrastructure for large program management and has provided the experience needed to resolve nuanced immigration challenges that arise for companies with global mobility needs.

Our Immigration team has more than 180 members located across Atlanta, Boston, Houston, New York, Los Angeles, DC, Hong Kong, and Europe, working from a state of the art, innovative platform to help our clients strategically and programmatically manage workforces and leverage global talent.

Our business immigration portfolio management program enables global employers to meet challenges head on by offering the collective experiences of more than 40 full-time immigration attorneys working collaboratively to define best practices to handle a given immigration challenge. Our long-standing dedication to innovation and process rigor in the immigration space further enhance the user experience and efficiencies we deliver.

General Global Outbound Services

Led by our in-house global attorney, our Global team can address our clients’ global mobility needs regardless of the destination. We offer significant and centralized in-house knowledge and insight into the practical aspects of obtaining work permits and entry documents for foreign country assignments. We bring substantive experience preparing and filing the actual global case not only via our in-house global team but also via several extensive networks of immigration specialists in foreign countries. This networking model gives us the flexibility to work with the top immigration experts in most foreign countries.

Business Immigration Litigation

If a matter solution requires litigation, Seyfarth is uniquely positioned to handle the most challenging business immigration litigation cases. Led by Leon Rodriguez, a former federal prosecutor and Director of US Citizenship and Immigration Services, the team is experienced with mandamus, Administrative Procedure Act, and declaratory judgment cases, offering a combination of skilled litigation capabilities, deep immigration knowledge, and extensive government contacts.

THE SEYFARTH EXPERIENCE

Our Immigration team offers a compelling client experience. We function as an integrated national organization, with day-to-day interaction, a shared technology infrastructure, and engagement among attorneys in all the firm’s offices and departments. Through our collaborative culture and innovative national platform we offer clients cost efficiencies for discrete issues as well as high-level strategic guidance on complex and sophisticated immigration issues at the same time.

We also understand that our clients need to be able to "tell the immigration story" to executive-level stakeholders in meaningful and compelling ways. Our team of data analysts identify trends and uncover insights revealed in the immigration program data, visualizing those findings in accessible and impactful ways.

We create novel mechanisms to eliminate pain points otherwise experienced in the business immigration world. For example:

  • We offer to clients with certain volume levels a case review and signing option that is compliant but much less cumbersome and time-consuming than the traditional method.
  • We use professional training videos to convey required content in a palatable manner that is more quickly and accurately absorbed by the foreign national employee and manager.
  • We regularly capture our collective case experience and deploy the resulting knowledge via our document automation platform, so it is second nature for us, for example, to front-load our immigration benefit requests with case documents and legal arguments to preempt (or at least reduce the scope and severity of) the requests for additional evidence (RFEs) that the government routinely issues. Our data confirms the drop-off in number and severity of RFEs issued, with resulting dollar and time savings for our clients.
