"Veteran Boston Lawyer Bolts from Foley Hoag, Now With Seyfarth Shaw"
Arthur Telegen was highlighted April 6, 2009 in the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly article, "Veteran Boston Lawyer Bolts from Foley Hoag, Now With Seyfarth Shaw." The article reported on Arthur's shift from Foley Hoag to the Boston office of Seyfarth Shaw. As noted in the article, Arthur had been the chairman of his previous firm's labor and employment department for more than a decade and had worked at the firm for the past 35 years since graduating from Harvard Law School.
A veteran Boston labor and employment lawyer, Arthur remarked, "I'm in no rush to retire." He added, "I think I have a great number of years ahead of me practicing law." As for his reason for leaving his previous firm, Arthur explained, "Foley is a wonderful regional law firm, but it doesn't have a national presence…. My practice over the years has become more national than regional...."
The article noted that Arthur's expertise is in counseling clients involved in major transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions or spin-offs, about their rights concerning union relationships. According to Arthur, most of his clients “are coming along" with him to Seyfarth. The article also pointed out that although Arthur's former and current law firms may differ greatly in size, they do share the same neighborhood. He concluded that "it's a tremendous move professionally and psychologically" and "both firms are endeavoring to make it as seamless as possible for me and for my clients. "
