About the Program

New York City Local Law 144 of 2021 (“Local Law 144”), which regulates employers’ use of automated employment decision tools (“AEDT”), including artificial intelligence, in employment selection and promotion decisions is on the horizon. With enforcement set to begin on July 5, 2023, it is critical for employers to understand the nuances and compliance risks of Local Law 144.

Join our panel of experts to discuss the details and ramifications when using tools such as machine learning, statistical modeling, data analytics, and artificial intelligence technology in the employment context. Topics we cover include:

  • The scope of Local Law 144's jurisdiction
  • Requirements for independent bias audits
  • The notices required to applicants and employees
