“Senate Panel Considers Fix to High Court ADA Decisions”

Camille’s testimony before the United States Senate Committee on Education, Health, Labor and Pensions was quoted in the article, “Senate Panel Considers Fix to High Court ADA Decisions,” published in the November 16, 2007 issue of Congress Daily.

The testimony at the hearing centered on Supreme Court decisions holding that mitigating measures—such as prosthetics, medication and hearing aids—must be considered in determining whether a person has a disability under ADA. Camille noted in her testimony that Senator Harkin’s bill (S. 1881) would expand the Americans with Disabilities Act so much that, “All of us who wear glasses and contact lenses would be covered.”
