New York Governor Kathy Hochul has signed legislation that significantly broadens protections for whistleblowing employees. The amendments, which take effect on January 26, 2022, will make the state's whistleblower law among the strongest in the nation.

Please join attorneys from Seyfarth’s New York Labor & Employment group for this informational webinar. During the program, presenters will provide an overview of New York's expanded whistleblower protections and discuss what employers across the state need to know in order to ensure full compliance.

Specific topics will include:

  • A detailed overview of the amended NY whistleblower statute
  • The scope of whistleblower protections that go well beyond any protections available under federal law
  • Practical real-world examples of potential pitfalls, and how employers can handle specific situations to remain in compliance and mitigate risk of “retaliation” claims
