Joe Wonderly and Daniel Culicover Write How Non-Compete Rules Apply to Low-Wage Jobs in HR.com

Seyfarth’s Joe Wonderly and Daniel Culicover co-authored an article, “Non-Compete Rules For Low-Wage Workers,” in HR.com on April 2. The Seyfarth attorneys discussed the recent Washington State Supreme Court decision which resolved an ongoing conflict between the statutory right of employees earning less than double the minimum wage to work a second job and their duty of loyalty to their employer.

“Employers are advised to review their employment agreements and employee handbooks in light of this decision to determine whether non-compete provisions that block employees from working second jobs are reasonable and necessary.”
