Lorie Almon was quoted in the January 25, 2010 article, "Use of Temp Workers Invites Exposures,” published by Business Insurance. The article also appeared in Workforce Management's Workforce Recruiting e-newsletter and Investment News. The article outlined why it is important for employers to guard against potential liabilities associated with bringing in temporary workers, a practice that has seen an upswing recently. According to Lorie and other observers, this trend could reflect an improving economy. Lorie remarked,“ I'm hopeful this is a sign that employers are dipping their toe back into the water.”

According to the article, whether workers are brought in by a staffing agency or directly, observers say employers need to be concerned about employment laws and benefits. Further, the article noted that even though a staffing agency may cut a temporary worker's check, employers remain obligated to comply with state and federal employment laws, including discrimination statutes. Lorie pointed out that using an agency to hire temporary workers mitigates some of  the potential risk of someone seeking reclassification as an employee.
