Seyfarth Enhances Commercial Litigation Capabilities with Addition of Dana Lumsden in Charlotte

September 15, 2025 – Seyfarth Shaw LLP has bolstered its national litigation practice with the addition of Dana C. Lumsden as a partner in the firm’s Charlotte office. Lumsden brings more than two decades of experience representing clients in complex commercial and financial services litigation.

Lumsden’s practice focuses on litigating high-stakes business disputes across the financial services, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors. He represents a broad range of clients, including multinational corporations, major financial institutions, and leading manufacturers.

Lumsden comes to Seyfarth from Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, where he was as a partner for 15 years.

Lumsden has tried cases involving intellectual property, insurance coverage, product liability, contract disputes, corporate governance, shareholder rights, federal securities claims, unfair trade practices, trade secrets, and the enforcement of restrictive covenants.

Among his notable matters, Lumsden has defended a manufacturer and retailer in a high-profile product liability case and has represented financial institutions in consumer finance class action matters.

Since 2024, he has been recognized in Best Lawyers for Litigation – Labor and Employment.

He is also active in the legal community, serving on committees for the International Association of Defense Counsel and the Mecklenburg County Bar Association.

Lumsden earned his JD from Columbia University School of Law and his BA from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill).
