Seyfarth Shaw New York Office Managing Partners Ranked Top 100 Influential Leaders by National Association of Corporate Directors

CHICAGO (September 20, 2011) — Leading law firm Seyfarth Shaw is pleased to announce that the firm’s New York office co-managing partners Lorie Almon (Labor & Employment) and John Napoli (Corporate & Finance) have been recognized by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) in its 2011 NACD Directorship 100, the most influential leaders in the boardroom and the corporate governance community. Almon was listed in the Governance Professional Institutions category, and Napoli was listed as one of the “People to Watch.”
Almon also co-chairs Seyfarth’s National Wage & Hour Litigation practice group, and she is frequently recognized by her peers as a leader in her field. She also serves on the firm’s Labor & Employment department’s leadership team in addition to chairing the New York Advisory Board of Jumpstart, one of the nation’s fast growing nonprofit organizations in the field of early childhood education.
Napoli chairs the firm’s national tax group, and his legal practice focuses on federal, state and local taxation, representing public and private clients, regularly advising clients on tax issues relating to corporate mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, consolidations, financing, real estate (including REITs), tax free like kind 1031 exchanges, subchapter S corporations, partnerships, joint ventures and limited liability companies.
This year’s selected individuals represent a range of companies including Apple, JP Morgan Chase, Coca-Cola, Walmart and General Electric, among others. The list includes 100 leading corporate directors and chief executive officers as well as governance advocates who have demonstrated commitment for upholding the highest standards and best practices in corporate governance.
The honorees will be recognized at a gala dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in New York on November 8. The dinner will be held in conjunction with NACD’s annual Directorship Forum.
