"President Obama Taps Ex- DOL Official For Vacant EEOC Commissioner Seat"
Victoria Lipnic's nomination to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) was featured in the November 4, 2009 edition of BNA's Daily Labor Report article, "President Obama Taps Ex- DOL Official For Vacant EEOC Commissioner Seat." According to the article, President Obama nominated Vicki, of counsel in Seyfarth Shaw's Washington, D.C. office, to the EEOC on November 3, 2009. The article noted that prior to her role with Seyfarth Shaw, Vicki was previously assistant secretary of labor for employment standards from 2002 until January 2009. The article also noted that her government service also includes positions as workforce policy counsel to members of the House Education and Labor Committee and as special assistant to Reagan administration Secretary of Commerce Malcolm Baldrige. The article pointed out that President Obama's nomination of Vicki should speed the committee's consideration of all three EEOC nominees. Senate confirmation is required for EEOC commissioners.
