Our commitment to community service also extends to efforts to minimize the impact of our operations on the environment and to raise awareness among our people about how they can contribute to the long-term survival of our natural resources.

We have a firm-wide Green Team with representatives from each office. The Green Team meets to share best practices and brainstorm about new programs.

Go Green initiatives include: providing desk-side paper recycling and floor-wide bottle and can recycling bins; using recycled paper; encouraging paper use reduction and double-sided printing; encouraging use of filtered water instead of bottled water; switching to compact fluorescent lighting; providing bicycle storage and showering facilities; and encouraging employees to turn off lights, computers and other electronics when not in use. We are committed to moving along the path to sustainability in order to enhance the well-being of our communities.

We also try to make sure our office space is as environmentally friendly as possible. Our Atlanta office, after moving into new space in Midtown in 2010, applied for and received LEED Gold certification for our space. In Boston, Sacramento and San Francisco, our offices are in buildings that have been LEED certified.

In order to take our efforts to the next level, we have joined the Law Firm Sustainability Network, a pilot group of law firms who meet regularly to learn from one another, share best practices and exchange ideas about how to improve our “Go Green” programs.
