Liz has 30 years of experience successfully representing employers in single-plaintiff and class action litigation involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation/whistleblower, wrongful termination, independent contractor status, unfair labor practices, OSHA, unfair competition/trade secret claims, and wage and hour issues. She has successfully handled large-scale DOL audits and EDD audits. Liz partners closely with clients to develop customized litigation strategies to achieve that client’s goals.
Liz has also handled complex, high stakes, bet-the-company matters with significant media attention. Clients turn to Liz as a trusted partner and advisor in times of crisis. She has provided strategic crisis management advice, developed PR and media strategies, and provided advice and strategic guidance to numerous corporate boards.
In addition, Liz has extensive experience conducting impartial workplace investigations. When working as an investigator, Liz works with clients to determine the appropriate scope for the investigation, interviews witnesses and reviews the relevant documents, and weighs the evidence in a fair and impartial way to make findings to enable clients to make sound and informed business decisions. Liz has also managed large investigation teams and provided training to in-house lawyers and human resources professionals on best practices for conducting workplace investigations, and she regularly provides legal advice to clients regarding investigations.
Liz also counsels employers regarding personnel matters, such as terminations and reductions-in-force, diversity and inclusion strategies, wage hour audits and practices, independent contractor classification, employee handbooks, best practices with personnel documents and practice, and other preventative planning. Liz has extensive experience drafting employment contracts and separation agreements.
Liz represents clients across a wide variety of industries such as entertainment, logistics, manufacturing, restaurants, financial institutions, government agencies, technology, rental car, construction, legal, and health care.
