Kyle Nelson and Daniel Culicover Write on Changes to New-Hire Procedures in Oregon in Reuters’ Westlaw Today
Seyfarth’s Kyle Nelson and Daniel Culicover co-authored an article, “Call Out to Oregon Employers: Your New-Hire Procedures Will Change in 2026,” in Thomson Reuters’ Westlaw Today on August 15. The Seyfarth attorneys discussed that, beginning January 1, 2026, Oregon employers will be required to provide new hires with a detailed written explanation of earnings and deductions—including pay rates, payroll codes, and itemized deductions—to help them understand their pay statements.
“Effective January 1, 2026, Oregon employers must provide new hires a written explanation of the earnings and deductions shown on the itemized statements provided on regular paydays and any other occasions when wages, salary, or commissions are paid. Employers must also review and update this information by January 1 of each year.”
