Matt has successfully represented employers in class actions involving claims of failure to provide meal periods and rest breaks, off-the-clock work, time rounding, misclassification, noncompliant job postings, and unlawful noncompetition covenants. He also represents employers in single- and multiplaintiff lawsuits involving claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, failure to accommodate, and leave law violations. His experience spans both the private and public sectors and includes representing companies across a wide spectrum of industries, such as health care, hospitality, transportation, and agriculture.
In addition to his litigation practice, Matt counsels employers on various employment issues, including onboarding, non-solicitation and noncompetition covenants, leaves of absence, wage and hour, reductions in force, and terminations.

- Obtained dismissal for a large health care provider of meal period and rest break claims brought by a labor union on behalf of all union members after an arbitration hearing.
- Obtained dismissal of meal period and rest break claims for a construction employer based on Section 301 preemption.
- Defeated class certification in a putative class action involving claims of independent contractor misclassification.
- Represented health care providers in wage and hour class actions involving claims of time rounding and missed meal periods and rest breaks.
- Represented hospitality employers in wage and hour class actions involving claims of missed meal periods and rest breaks, unpaid overtime, and failure to make disclosures related to service charges.
- Represented transportation employers in wage and hour class actions involving claims of missed meal periods and rest breaks.
