Erin helps employers resolve legal, strategic, and operational challenges that come with litigation, restructuring, and other complex workplace matters.
More About Erin
Erin is board certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She strategically guides clients through the litigation process, drawing upon her experience clerking in a state trial court and interning at a state appellate court and supreme court. Erin further leverages her litigation experience to counsel clients with respect to workplace disputes and employment practices.
Erin represents clients in a wide range of employment matters before federal and state courts, the EEOC, and the Texas Workforce Commission. She has experience with single-plaintiff litigation as well as complex litigation, including class action discrimination lawsuits, collective actions, and federal and state multidistrict litigation.
In addition to her litigation practice, Erin has experience advising companies on the employment aspects of business restructuring. She regularly assists companies with reductions-in-force, ensuring compliance with the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act (OWBPA) and Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), drafting release agreements, and other downsizing issues. She helps businesses comply with the OWBPA and similar anti-discrimination statutes by providing guidance for employers making selection decisions, drafting age disclosures, coordinating statistical analyses, and preparing release agreements for group termination programs. Erin also conducts WARN analyses to determine if advance notice is required for mass layoffs and plant closures, and in the event of a trigger, she assists companies with providing the appropriate notices to employees and governmental entities. She also has experience assisting clients with international reductions-in-force and coordinating with attorneys globally to advise on employment terminations abroad.
Erin’s practice also encompasses conducting internal workplace investigations. She has conducted numerous investigations for both public and private sector employers concerning sensitive claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, as well as fiduciary duty claims. Erin has similarly presented various trainings to clients on subjects such as conducting investigations and Title IX compliance.
